Spring Yoga Sequence. Day 3. Iyengar Yoga for Beginners

Video

Description

Spring Yoga Sequence, Day 3. Iyengar Yoga for Beginners. 20 minute Change of Season Yoga Practice.

Join Lin and Leo for a Yoga Practice for the Spring to get energy flowing through the body. In this series of 3 days of yoga classes, you gradually build up from a simple sequence with basic yoga poses, into more demanding actions.

Day 3. This free yoga class has the following poses:
Adho Mukha Svanasana (Dog Head Down)
Utttanasana (Standing Forward Fold)
Utkatasana (Chair Pose)
Urdhva Hastasana (Upward Arma in Tadasana)
Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon Pose)
Parivrtta Ardha Chandrasana (Revolved Half Moon Pose)
Ardha Matsyandrasana (Seated Twist)
Dandasana (Staff Pose)
Savasana (Corpse Pose)

These poses help to extend and open the spine, helping with back pain and energy levels. The balancing actions help to develop balance and concentration. The twists will detox the body and stimulate the immune system; something which can be very helpful when the seasons change and the temperature alters.

If you enjoy this sequence, check out our 13 Days of Yoga which ‘Yoga with Lin and Leo’ filmed to celebrate the teachings of Guruji, B.K.S. Iyengar, and to promote Iyengar yoga.

This sequence aims to improve your extension, alignment and balance in the poses. If you find any of the poses difficult, you can look the poses up in our Yoga Pose Directory, which we are adding to all the time. In the Pose Directory you will find yoga tutorials on many of the poses you will encounter in both this yoga class and the 13 Days of Yoga Series. These tutorials will teach the poses in more detail and sometimes with extra props.

An additional benefit of regular yoga practice is weight loss.
