Pran Means energy and nayam means control, yes the regular practice of Pranayam helps you defeat all illness. In this 37 mins series we will help you practice several other types of Pranayam. Above all we will also throw light on the benefits of these practices. Nadi Sodhan Pranayam – Close your eyes and raise your right hand and place the elbow of your right hand on the palm of your left hand. Close your left nostril and inhale deeply through the other. hold your breath and close the other nostril with your thumb, hold your breath as long as you can. Exhale through your left nostril and hold your breath. Now inhale from the other nostril, now close both your nostrils and hold your breath for as long as you can. Open your right nostril and exhale. Repeat this 5 times a day. Benefits – Calms your mind and cleanses your system. Kapalbhati Pranayam – Sit in a lotus position. Close your eyes and take a deep breath, using your stomach muscles. Forcefully and rapidly expel your breath. Take a deep slow breath in and expel your breath forcefully. Benefits – Reduces weight, Helps clear congestion from air passage.Suryabhedan Pranayam – Sit in a lotus position, Place your right elbow on your left palm, and close your right nostril with your ring finger. Breathe slowly and deeply through your right nostril. Benefits – Helps renew your energy level and makes you feel energetic.Chandra Bhedan Pranayam – Sit down in a lotus position, Place your right elbow on your left palm and and close your right nostril with your thumb. Breathe slowly and deeply through your left nostril. Benefits – Helps calm your mind and body. Lom Anulom Vilom Pranayam – Sit down in a lotus position and close your left nostril with your ring finger, Close your right nostril with your thumb, now take a deep breath through your left nostril and then release it thorugh the right nostril. Benefits – Clams your mind and body, Reduces stress.
