20 Minute Hatha Yoga for Beginners – Gentle, Simple, & Basic Yoga Class – Beginners Yoga //EXPAND FOR MORE INFO//

Hi! I’m Christina, and welcome to my yoga YouTube channel, ChriskaYoga! This is a 25 minute hatha yoga class for beginners. If you’re new to yoga or you’re just looking to get back to the basics, this is a great routine for you! As always, please work with caution. (*PRO TIP: If the pace of this class is too fast for you, then go into the settings of the YouTube video player to adjust to a slower speed*)

Begin laying on the back and then hug the knees in towards the chest (apanasana) to gently stretch the hamstrings and glutes. Then we’ll come to easy pose (sukhasana) for a twist, forward fold, and upper back arch to open the shoulders and chest.

Next, we’ll move through several cat and cow poses before coming into a child’s pose (balasana). Then we’ll move through a downward facing dog pose (adho mukha svanasana) into mountain pose (tadasana).

After this, we’ll move through a few modified sun salutations (surya namaskara a) before taking several standing poses such as warrior 2 (virabhadrasana II), a wide leg forward bend (prasarita padottonasana) and triangle pose (uttitha trikonasana).

Following this, we will come to a seat on the floor and take a straight leg forward bend (dandhasana) and a twist in bound angle pose (baddha konasana). Then we will come back to laying on the floor and hug the knees in towards the chest where we’ll take a supine twist. We will then end the yoga class in savasana.
